St. Paul's Building Renovation Fundraising

The theme of our building renovation fundraising effort is "Renewing St. Paul's for the next 50 years." Though some of us will not be around in 50 years, our contributions to this project will be. By making the church more accessible to all, more energy efficient, and by enhancing the beauty of our worship space, the renovation is our Valentine to future generations.

Now is the time to consider a donation of cash or securities to this effort. These gifts can be made all at once or over a period of years. Gifts of ANY size are welcome. Brochures about the renovation and pledge cards will continue to be available at coffee hour and social gatherings after each service.

Please or to discuss the project or to make a gift to this important initiative.

More information on the renovation may be found here.

NEEDED: People to set up for 5:00 pm Liturgy after coffee hour

We're looking for people to help set up the Parish Hall for the 5:00 p.m. Liturgy after the noon Coffee Hour. If you would be interested in doing this, please email Mother Melissa at melissa.skelton@stpaulseattle.org or Mark Taylor at mltaylor@seattleu.edu.

If you eat at the Quizno's across the street (20 Roy St.), let them know you belong to St. Paul's. Part of your lunch money will come back to the church! Our thanks to manager Sabi Singh for offering this arrangement.

SACRISTANS NEEDED

This is a behind the scenes job. It involves coming in on Saturday or on the eve of a Feast day to set things up for the next Mass, about a half hour before the service and washing the communion vessels afterwards. Schedules are flexible, you will be trained and work with an experienced sacristan so you won't have to remember it all. Join this wonderful ministry, email Prue Kluckhohn at pckluckhohn@comcast.net or catch her at church.

Bakers’ Guild Openings

Your annual opportunity to join our communion bread makers has arrived! This quiet and satisfying ministry is a great way to get involved without going to meetings. If you’d like to participate as a regular or substitute baker, call or e-mail Carol Wiesenbach, 206/235-6745

Parishioner Interviewed for the Lance Armstrong Foundation

Claire Tinker, who is featured on the Livestrong website says, "I was featured with Lance Armstrong Foundation in an online fitness article as the result of my unique approach to dealing with quite arduous treatment for breast cancer. When diagnosed I didn't want to make a big deal of it, but now that I am quite sure I am cured, I wanted to share the good news.

The other good news is that I have exceeded my fundraising goal, so am contributing that way as well."

Our Red Frontal, created and stitched by Father Ralph Carskadden for use on Pauline feasts (Conversion of St. Paul, January 25th, St. Peter and St. Paul, June 29th) and Pentecost Day, is made of dupioni silk with an ornamental band across the lower edge which incorporates fabrics from the Americas, Asia and Africa. As part of the design, gold kid leather letters spell "Jew Greek Slave Free Male Female All Are One in Christ." (View photograph of banner). Taken from St. Paul's letter to the Galatians (3:28), they reflect the diversity of the people who form our parish.
