Adult Formation Events

Adult Formation Events

Adult formation events at St. Paul’s are open to newcomers and long-timers who want to understand this Christian way of life and nurture practices which enrich their lives in the world. People who are curious about significant questions which emerge from our open-minded, seeking, and Christian spirituality are drawn to a Sunday class, a quiet morning, or a foundations course. Adult formation events take place throughout the year, from early Fall through late Spring, and are marked by a wide range of topics, questions, issues, and practices. In a Christian community that affirms the organic and developing nature of life, we recognize that worship, learning, and service form us as maturing Christians marked by wonder, curiosity, and the capacity to question.

A variety of formation events are offered every year at St. Paul’s. St. Paul’s 101 is a quick introduction to Anglo-Catholic worship and common life. Enquiry classes are designed for persons who seek a more in-depth introduction to Episcopal faith and life, especially for those who are considering baptism, confirmation, or reception in the Episcopal Church. Foundation courses focus on formation in basic areas of Christian life: worship and prayer, the arts, spirituality and personality, spiritual practices, the Bible and Christian theology, and social action within the Anglo-Catholic Episcopal tradition. Sunday classes welcome participants to explore and discuss particular issues and questions linked to the seasons and festivals of the year. Quiet mornings offer an oasis of silence, peace, and reflection as we prepare for the winter and then the spring festivals and their spiritual wisdom and enchantment.

Our friends at the Episcopal Bookstore will have a grand display of resources available for purchase. From 9:00 am – 3:00 pm with lunch and childcare provided. Cost: $25 ($10 for students/retired).
