Wednesday, Feb. 8: Foundations Course I:
Restoring meaning and joy: Healing in the Gospel of Mark and Contemporary Life

Are you interested in the healing of body, mind, and spirit? If so, join us for this Winter foundations course in which we will consider the many dimensions of Jesus’ healing practice and what we might learn and experience about healing in our lives and world today today. Dr. David Nienhaus, a gifted and engaging teacher of the Bible at Seattle Pacific University, will be assisted by Fr. Samuel Torvend in this course which will deepen your understanding of and appreciation for the gospel which will guide us throughout the Sundays of 2012. Please sign up on the sheets available in the church entry way and the kiosk in the Parish Hall or send Fr. Torvend an email at samuel.torvend@stpaulseattle.org. A donation of $10 is appreciated in order to cover printed materials.


Sunday, February 5: Annual Meeting and Election of Officers

Our Annual Meeting is set for the first Sunday in February immediately following the 11:15 service. This is the time for us to acknowledge accomplishments of the past year, review the 2012 budget and, most importantly, elect officers and delegates for the coming year. We'll have light lunch items at coffee hour and childcare will be provided.


THE SECOND ANNUAL "HELP ME ENJOY MY LIFE" RESOURCE FAIR
Noon – 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 11th,

Everyone is invited to discover some key service and special interest organizations for the Disabled, Elderly and Low Income folks in Queen Anne and close by. St. Paul's many ministries will be represented.

With a light soup lunch and other refreshment and beverages and live entertainment as well, it's a fabulous way to introduce our wonderful parish and get better acquainted with our community on Queen Anne. If you'd like to donate towards the refreshments or help with setting or cleaning up, contact Lynette at Lynettedouglass@centurylink.net, Lynette-douglass@comcast.net or call her cell at 206/352-7140. Come and join in. There is something here for everyone!

We are eager to welcome the Rev. Dr. Gordon Lathrop of Philadelphia to our day of reflection on Baptismal Living, Baptismal Ethics: Personal, Communal, and Ecological. Dr. Lathrop is a popular speaker who will lead us to consider the ways in which the waters of baptism continue to flow through our lives, shaping our spirituality, and leading us to live, with courage, the Christian life in the world today. In this oasis of thoughtful reflection, Mother Melissa, Fr. Stephen Shaver, and Fr. Torvend and will offer sessions on the personal, communal, and ecological dimensions of the baptismal mystery. Our friends at the Episcopal Bookstore will have a grand display of resources available for purchase. From 9:00 am – 3:00 pm with lunch and childcare provided. Cost: $25 ($10 for students/retired).
